The Bible calls us to be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. 1 Peter 3:15 . How prepared are you to answer the commonly asked questions from non-believers? Join us during the months of July and August as Pastor Bauman and Pastor Engberg unwrap the biblical answers to some of the most often asked questions by non-Christians in a sermon series called, “Faith in an Age of Skepticism - Answers to Unbelievers Questions About Our Faith”

Why Do I Need God? - The Absurdity of Life Without Him.
Many Christians advocate that it is impossible to find meaning and purpose in life if God doesn't exist and we are not eternal beings. In this message we will try to determine if an atheist can live both happily and consistently with his own worldview or if his only route to significance is by embracing what he knows to be a 'noble lie.'

Why Doesn't God Answer My Prayers?

Three times in the gospel of John, Jesus promised that He would do whatever we ask in prayer. Yet most of us have prayed for something only to be disappointed by His lack of response. What does this imply? When Jesus made those promises, was He not being honest with His followers or perhaps He was making a promise that He simply couldn't keep? This message will seek to discover what to do with prayers that go seemingly unanswered.

Can We Take the Bible Literally?

Christians are peculiar people. We worship a God who is revealed in Scripture. This Scripture, which is our authority, is almost 2,000 years old. It is natural to ask the question: Can we take this Bible, that is so old, literally? Is it historically accurate? Since it is so old, isn't it culturally obsolete? Can we really trust it? In this sermon, we will discover that Christians can: 1.) Trust the Bible historically. 2.) Trust the Bible culturally.

Is Christianity the Only Way to God?

There are many people who believe that all religions ultimately lead to God. So when Christianity claims to be the only source of absolute truth, believers are accused of being prideful and close-minded to the value of other faiths. Is it true that our one-truth-fits-all approach is exclusive or confining as some people say? Should Christians be more willing to acknowledge the value of other world religions?

Is the Church Responsible for Injustice?

Religion kills. That’s what many people believe and it seems as if history backs up the claim. From the Holy Land to Belfast to Jonestown religion-fueled violence has taken the lives of countless victims. It makes one wonder how is it that Christians can claim to be proponents of peace when the church has done so much over the centuries to promote terror. Is it true that religion poisons everything or could there be another source behind the violence done in the name of God?

Why is There So Much Suffering in the World?

The 18th century philosopher David Hume stated the problem of evil succinctly as he inquired about God: Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then He is impotent. Is God able to prevent evil, but not willing? Then He is malevolent? If He is both able and willing, why do we have evil? This message will attempt to lead us to a reasonable response to the problem of pain.
